OCNED FRP PACKAGED SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT
The difference between FRP and RC extended aeration system is that tank are pre-fabricated in the factory using Fiber Reinforced Plastic (FRP) whereas the RC extended aeration system is cast at site using Reinforced Concrete.
The Fibre-Glass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) packaged sewage treatment plant is an Extended Aeration system which consists of
- Inlet primary screen chamber
- Pumping sump
- Secondary screen chamber
- Horizontal grit chamber
- Oil and grease chamber
- Aeration tank
- Sedimentation tank
- Sludge holding tank
- Control/Blower room
- Disinfecting chamber
- Flow measuring chamber
Advantages :
- Cost savings for small plants (<1000 PE)
- Easy installation and handling
- Shorter construction period
- Easy Maintenance
- Smaller & compact footprint.
In this treatment plant, raw sewage is discharged into the primary screen where an automatic mechanical or manual coarse screen will be provided to remove coarse solid materials. The screened sewage will then flow to a wet well. The raw sewage is be pumped to a secondary screen by a raw sewage pump. A mechanical fine screen will be provided in a secondary screen chamber to remove fine solid materials in the sewage. The screened sewage will then be discharged to a grit chamber for the removal of inert materials such as fine sand, gravel etc. Thereafter, the sewage will discharge to an oil and grease chamber for the removal of oil and grease.
After the pre-treatment processes, the sewage is then discharged to an aeration tank. A blower and diffusers are used to supply air to the tank continuously. After that, the treated sewage will be discharged to a secondary clarifier where the settlement process will separate both effluents (liquid) and waste (Sludge). The effluents will then be discharged to a disinfecting chamber before flowing to the nearest drain/river. A sludge-holding tank is also provided.
